Dolly Parton has added a stop to her upcoming European tour. The country superstar tweeted Thursday that she was "incredibly excited to FINALLY announce" that she was bringing her Blue Smoke World Tour" to Britain's Glastonbury Festival.
Rumors about Dolly appearing at the long-running UK event began circulating last year, and event organizer Emily Eavis tells BBC Radio 6 it's something they'd been trying to make happen "for a long time."
While the Glastonbury schedule hasn't been set yet, Dolly is expected to fill the Legends spot on the final day of the event. It would mark the second consecutive year an American country veteran has been tapped for the performance, following Kenny Rogers last year. The 2014 Glastonbury Festival is set for Pilton, England from June 25th through the 29th.
Parton is spending this year on the road in support of her latest album, "Blue Smoke," which will arrive in stores on May 13th. She just wrapped up the Australian portion of the trek in Perth on Thursday. Dolly has a series of U.S. dates scheduled for late May. She'll head to Europe in early June.
