A police standoff ended safely last night in the town of Salina with a homicide suspect in custody.
It all started when syracuse police detectives called for backup and a lock-down around a house at 102 S. Roosevelt Avenue.
They'd gone there to ask about the suspect, who they have not yet identified publicly. A woman who had just left the house confirmed the suspect was inside. Police then spoke with the person, who refused to come out of the house.
The unidentified suspect did finally surrender peacefully at about 8pm, following hours of negotiations.
