Sheriff's Detectives Arrest 3 In Theft Of Pit Bull Puppies

Cayuga County Sheriff's Office has charged three women in the theft of seven pit bull puppies reportedly valued at $5,000.

Tonya Henry (left) and Ashley Montgomery (center) of Auburn have been charged with criminal possession of stolen property. Henry was is also facing charges of resisting arrest. Cheyenne Whitmore (right) of Port Byron was charged with burglary and grand larceny. Detectives say the pit bulls were taken Monday, but were returned Wednesday. They added that the persons responsible for returning the puppies are not the ones in custody.
