Syracuse Cop Cleared By Jury

A Syracuse Police Officer has been cleared by a jury on assault charges after a domestic incident in the Town of Clay.

46 year old Kevin Blair was suspended from the police force without pay after the incident, but a jury has now found Blair not guilty on the assault charges involving his ex-girlfriend.

Blair's attorney, Bob Durr, told 570 WSYR that his client wants his job back. Durr says Blair has served proudly on the Syracuse Police force for 18 years without a blemish on his record, but Blair has not been reinstated to the force.

Two other charges in the case in which Blair is accused of violating orders of protection remain unresolved in court.

Durr says the ex-girlfriend involved later recanted her story and there were witnesses who testified in the case.
